Glowing Skin | Updated Skin Care Routine September 7, 2021 in Beauty&Skincare After many requests from those that follow me on Snapchat I have decided to make this post! I hope it’s helpful! Disclaimer: I am not a dermatologist, just a girl who FINALLY cleared her skin, please take care when using any products recommended and test in small amounts first My Skin: Skin Type: combination/oily T-zone (does what is wants tbh) Skin Issues: hyperpigmentation, occasional breakouts and uneven skin tone Products/Tools***: The only real changes to my routine from my last skincare post are that I have introduced more products that are natural. Of course, you are entitled to use whatever products suit your skin; below I have listed the tools and products I use as a guide. Please note that prices are size specific – you can get smaller and cheaper alternatives** Face wash – Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2 in 1 Wash & Mask £3.33 Garnier Pure Active 3 in 1 Wash, Scrub & Mask £2.46 Natural Cleanser/Toner – Aloe Vera Gel £10.99 Oils – Lemon Oil £6.99 Bio Oil £13.33 Moisturiser – The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisturiser £19.00 Sun Screen – La Roche Posay Anthelios Anti-Shine Sun Cream Gel SPF50+ £16.50 Face Wipes – Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Wipes £3.25 Face Mask – The Body Shop Seaweed Oil Balancing Clay Mask £11 Facial Cleansing Brush* – Vanity Planet Ultimate Skin Spa System £100 (£30) *I don’t have a discount code for you, but search YouTube and you’ll find one in no time- everyone and their momma is using Vanity Planet! If you buy this product at full price you are playing yourself- do not say I didn’t warn you! Routines: If not wearing makeup, simply skip the unnecessary steps π Morning Routine: Wash face using face wash Pat down with towel Mix Sun Screen and Moisturiser and pat into face lightly Apply primer and makeup as normal Evening Routine: Remove makeup with a face wipe Wash face with face wash and facial cleansing brush Pat down with towel Apply generous amount of aloe-vera gel (cleanser/toner) to cotton pads and gently wipe face to remove any excess dirt and makeup Mix 3 to 4 drops of lemon oil and Bio oil in palm and pat into skin PRODUCTS THAT CHANGED MY LIFE AND RESTORED MY GLOW SO I CAN SLAY ALL DAY EVERYDAY NO MATTER WHAT A HATER GOTTA SAY: I get it, if you were to buy everything I have just recommended you’ll be approximately £109.86 poorer and it might not work for you. So don’t. The main 3 products/tools I vouch for are: Facical Cleansing Brush – helps to exfoliate skin and removes dirt and makeup Read the skin benefits here Lemon Oil– brightens and evens out of skin tone, helping to balance oil production on skin making makeup last longer Read the skin benefits here Aloe Vera Gel –calms, softens and smooths skin Read the skin benefits here General Tips: Mind-set, Diet & Well-being Get to know your skin! Love your skin – I’ve finally managed to clear my face, but I still have other problematic areas. Learning to love my skin hasn’t been easy, but the more I do, the less stressed it makes me and the faster it improves. It’s yours and you slay regardless so learn to appreciate it, flaws and all! Learn from your setbacks – don’t just give up if things suddenly start going wrong, try to find out why Establish a routine – changing products every other week will not improve your skin Improve your diet – reducing my dairy intake had noticeable benefits Drinkwater – I drink 1-2 litres a day; I have also been on a water-only diet for the past 3 years. If I’m being honest, only drinking water didn’t do anything for my skin until I changed my diet Detox – I use teas for this, read my last skin care post here Bad Habits & Cleanliness Do not rub your face dry with towels, pat gently Do not over exfoliate – I only use my exfoliation brush when I have worn makeup/twice a week Avoid touching your skin unnecessarily Clean headscarf/bonnet and pillowcases regularly Limit makeup – with a good primer, you shouldn’t have to worry too much about how makeup is affecting your skin. But PLEASE let your skin breathe girl! Good Chemicals & Skin Protection Protect your skin from the sun daily – even if your melanin is popping and the sky is always grey Balance the oils on your skin- EVEN IF YOU HAVE OILY SKIN Use a face mask that meets you skins needs at least once a month Use a face wash with salicylic acid – regardless of whether or not you have acne Avoid harsh chemicals – incorporate as many natural products into your routine as possible Consult a dermatologist before using medicated products Be cautious with new products – on first use try to mix products with an old favourite that you can trust. Eg. When I first started using lemon oil I mixed it with Bio Oil because my skin was already used to Bio Oil; now I can use either solely. But I know people who used lemon oil alone first time and reacted badly- just be careful Some of the natural products may seem pricey on first glance, but considering how much I have spent on high-end products over the years, they’re relatively cheap. They also last a lot longer and actually work! Wishing you the best on your journey to clear skin! Please share your tips and favourite products with me in the comments below! Don’t forget to share with anyone who might benefit! Stay slaying! Tisha x #Schmile **All prices correct at time of posting***No affiliate links included in this post- all opinions are my own
